An all-electric Mercedes-Benz waste and recycling collection truck will be on centre stage at the ReGen Expo in Sydney this Wednesday and Thursday
Mercedes-Benz Trucks will present the eEconic, the most advanced electric truck of its kind available in Australia. It produces zero exhaust emissions and operates in near silence.
The electric eEconic adds to the already impressive advantages of the diesel Econic.
Developed from the start as a city-friendly waste and recycling vehicle, rather than a modified general purpose truck, the Econic is known for its excellent visibility, practicality and active safety features.
The eEconic uses much of the same electric architecture as the Mercedes-Benz Trucks eActros, which is also on sale in Australia.
This year, Mercedes-Benz Trucks will show the latest version of the 6x2 eEconic with dual wheels on the rear axles for better weight distribution.
Daimler Truck is an electric transport leader in Australia and was the first manufacturer to launch an all-electric truck when Fuso introduced the pioneering eCanter locally in 2021.
Mercedes-Benz Trucks Australia Pacific Sales and Marketing Vice President, Andrew Assimo, says the eEconic will be a highlight of the ReGen Expo event.
“The Mercedes-Benz eEconic is the perfect choice for collecting waste and recycling day in and day out while producing zero exhaust emissions,” he says.
“It is the most advanced electric waste and recycling truck available in Australia backed by a trusted manufacturer and supported by the Daimler Truck dealership network.”
While Mercedes-Benz Trucks is leading the way with battery electric technology, it is also proud to help traditional internal combustion engine customers drive down emissions.
Mercedes-Benz Trucks introduced the first full range of Euro 6 heavy trucks in Australia with the new Actros in 2016 and its remarkable fuel efficiency is renowned across the industry.
